Who We Are

Our Start

Great to meet you!

Hey there! 👋

I’m Otto! Firstly, thank you for checking out my checklists and learning a little more about our company. Your support goes a long way in helping me to continue to provide our amazing aviation community with actually useable (and up to date) checklists.

You might be thinking to yourself “I haven’t heard of EZ Copilot before… why should I trust this bald bloke from the internet?” And I would say that is a perfectly logical thought process. Originally, EZ Copilot was just a brand that I used for my personal use of checklists.

What started with me getting some made for personal use, quickly turned into pilot buddies asking to buy some. As more and more friends asked for a checklist for their plane, I started to think, “man, this might really be something for everyone.”

CLIMB AND MAINTAIN

Things began climbing quicker than a Cirrus SR-22 🚀

That might be a touch dramatic. However, with our product on Amazon and Aircraft Spruce shelves, we now have thousands of checklists in thousands of planes all around the world.

Overall usability.

So, why did I take on the status-quo of aviation checklists?

With nearly two decades of graphic design experience, it became clear to me that there isn’t a checklist on the market that fits the needs of all pilots. From design to durability.

Using my background in educational design and user experience, I used industry-leading design methods to help pilots keep their spot on the checklist. The checklist also uses colors effectively, as to help the pilot with reading, and not squinting.

We also didn’t want a checklist that was going to fall apart on you within a few uses. After 18 months of testing different printers, paper, lamination material and methods, and even changing the ink, I believe we’ve made the strongest and most durable checklist on the market.

Our Building Process

Step 1

Set the foundation

Our checklists use the FAA-approved Pilot’s Operation Handbook for each specific plane make and model as its foundation to ensure you have a product that you can trust.
Step 2

Build from the ground

Once the foundation has been set, we seek out the make and model and verify the flow makes sense. What good is a checklist that doesn’t include setting the transponder?
Step 3

Test, test, and more tests

All of our checklists go through multiple rounds of testing to verify how well it works in the cockpit. Once verified, the checklist is printed and then goes through quality-control for sturdiness and durability.
